From what I can tell, the 75th addition of the Daytona Bike Week was a resounding success. Unlike many years, I saw very few negative responses about the rally on Facebook. From what I gathered looking at online posts was that the first weekend almost looked like what the last weekend usually looks like. I think many people are taking advantage of the smaller crowds and lighter traffic early in the week than in previous years. I heard different views from people at the rally ─ some said it was smaller, some said bigger. All I know is that I am there the second half of the week and it seemed pretty crowded to me.
One thing that I’m sure everyone can agree on was that the weather was absolutely perfect all week. The only thing that was a problem was sunburn. Yes, even this olive-skinned Italian neglected to use sun block my first day there and, boy did I pay for it. I live at the beach in North Carolina and I should know better. I’m such a dumb ass!
I hope everyone had a great time in the Daytona Beach area enjoying what we all know as the biker lifestyle. There is no other group of like-minded individuals that can compare to the men and woman who enjoy the wind in their face and two wheels on the ground.
