Held on The Quail property in Carmel Valley, California, the Friday before Sunday’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, it is an appropriate lead-in for the final weekend’s activities. Included in the admission is plenty of drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and different food stations for munching. We noticed a huge supply of napkins so the visitors could wipe off the drool from admiring all the fantastic examples of the latest horseless carriages and motor powered two wheelers and three wheelers.
The few commercial exhibitors were all tastefully chosen including Rolls Royce, Audi, Porsche and Burgess Yachts, to name a few. All upscale top shelf brands and so refreshing for a change!
The big wigs announced plans for the Best of the Best for next year which would be a show consisting of all the big worldwide concours winners gathering at The Quail to pick the World’s Best. I mentioned to the powers to be that motorcycles should be included while they were gathered on the stage.
Once again, the people at The Quail out did themselves making one of the best even better! Check out the photos and see for yourselves.
A little side note. With millions of dollars worth of unbelievable cars, the Spirit of The Quail award went to a Moto Guzzi motorcycle. Yeah!
