This year’s show was a huge success with a large turnout and many high-quality bikes. I enjoy this show because it’s the first chance I get to meet up with old friends and, hopefully, make some new ones. So if you see me at a rally, stop and say, “Hey.” I’ll be the photographer without three cameras hanging from the neck, a backpack and knee pads. It’s just me, my camera and a lot of pockets. If any of my goombas ever saw me in public with kneepads on, they would bust my chops until the end of time ─ just sayin’.
The winner of Best of Show this year was a thing of beauty built by Christian Rivard, from Quebec, Canada, with his 2010 Artisanal Chopper. The Judges Trophy went to Joe Palermo for his incredibly engineered 1960 BMW chopper, my personal favorite. I think the judges got it right on both bikes.
