The Baddest Bagger Show takes place in the pavilion at Destination Daytona, a great place to get out of the sun and cool off, but a terrible place to take photos. With it being open on all sides, you are always shooting into the light and it doesn’t help that there is little lighting inside. I know, “Wah, wah, wah ─ suck it up sunshine.”
In the last few years the number of custom baggers has skyrocketed. It seems like builders just can’t build them fast enough. With the addition of the 26- and 30-inch front wheels, they are everywhere. I hear different opinions on how well these big wheel bikes ride ranging from terrible to OK. I have not had the opportunity to ride a big front wheel so I’m not qualified to have an opinion. I do know one thing for sure; the rims and tires are über expensive. That said, they look cool but are they practical? I don’t know.
One thing I do love about all these new custom baggers is that there is plenty of canvas for custom paint and believe me, I have seen bagger paint jobs that boggle the mind. Being a photographer and loving the visual spectrum, I am in Hog Heaven.
