The show is still held on Wednesday of Bike Week. Now a short section of Beach Street Is barricaded off and the show bikes are spotted on the roadway. Using a bunch of volunteers to do the spotting, guiding, and other duties, The Motor Company officials ran the classification, registration, and collecting of fees.
The number of bikes entered in ride in show was kinda light this year, along with all the other shows in Daytona with the exception of Tropical Tattoo’s Old School deal. But, we did run into retired VP of H-D styling, the world renowned Willie G., gabbing with the participants. We hung out for a while hoping for more entries and gabbing with the temporary help The Motor Company had hired to staff their exhibition tents. But, alas not many more interesting bikes were entered.
I had places to go and people to see so I was off and running.
