I’m not asking you to go hire a professional for photos either. All we require for photos is decent photography that showcases your bike well. Just take a bunch of shots outside of all sides of the bike with a decent camera (No phone cameras please) and if you don’t own one or know how to use it, believe me there’s always a friend of yours who not only does, but is dying to get some photo credits too. Everybody’s got a friend with a good camera and you’re no different. Just find a nice background (industrial gritty, brick wall, graffiti, etc) and fire away. A rule of thumb is that you should only photograph your bike in its natural environment like on tarmac or cement or whatever. The first urge people have is to either shoot it in their driveway and hope the hose or the lawnmower or the trash barrel doesn’t show up. Even worse, they head to the nearest patch of lovely green thick grass for the perfect photo shoot. Wrong! If you gotta, just shoot it in the street then as nothing looks as plain stupid as a bad ass custom parked on Bermuda grass waiting for a unicorn to go prancing by in the background. By the way, be sure to include a few shots of you with your bike.
After you’ve got the photos done, click on the Submit Your Bike button on the Barnett’s Magazine homepage and follow the directions. Yeah there’s a few questions you’ve got to answer about your bike, but the more you write, the better your article. If you’re having trouble with that or want to be sure if your bike would make for a good article or whatever question you might have (nothing’s too big or too small or too silly) then drop a note to me at jdog000@aim.com and we’ll get you on your road to fame and fortune.
Good luck with all this and I hope to hear from you soon. Your fifteen minutes of fame are waiting.
