2010 Cincinnati
V-Twin Expo by Easyriders Part 2
Story and Photos by Jack Cofano
As anyone who has read any of my articles on the events that I cover (that’s right, I’m talking about you Mom) knows I always try to highlight the positive aspects of every rally and show. However today I’ve got an axe to grind. What’s my bitch you ask? Well I’ll tell you. WHY THE HELL DO THEY HOLD THIS EVENT IN CINCINNATI IN FEBRUARY? I woke up Sunday morning and it was four-freakin’ degrees outside. The boys were retreating into my body seeking a warm place to hide just thinking about it.
Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Cincy, but hey, I’d like to walk around and check the city out without fear of hypothermia. Some people have told me the reason it’s held there is it is centrally located from the East and West Coast. Well that doesn’t seem to bother the hoards that flock to Daytona, and Sturgis is certainly not an easy place to travel to. Hello? Has anyone heard of Vegas, Miami, or anyplace warm? Cincy in February is more suited to a snowmobile convention than a motorcycle get-together.
If you want to increase attendance, show people a good time, give them an excuse to vacation, and for crying out loud, hold the freakin’ show somewhere where we don’t have to wear long johns.
I’m just sayin’ . . .
