Story and Photos by Jack Cofano {phocagallery view=categories|categoryid=782|imagecategories=0|}

I hope you enjoyed the first half of the photo coverage we posted Friday. I had so many photo’s I thought it would be better to post half one day and half the next. Didn’t want you to get carpal finger. So if I took your picture and you didn’t’ see it in the first group of photo’s your sure to see them in this post.
I normally to not use this venue to exercise my right to express my opinions LOL but unfortunately for the world I have an opinion on everything so bear with me. In today’s economy we can no longer take the “same as it ever was” philosophy in our industry, especially in our industry. Given the fact that attendance at the V-Twin Expo has significantly gone down in the last couple of years I think it is way past due for a change. This is our trade show, it starts off the business year and it’s where a lot of business should be getting done. This can’t happen if vendors don’t show up and potential buyers stay away. It’s time for the organizers of the show to rethink the reasons for holding the show in Cincinnati. Those reasons are no longer relevant in today’s economy.
In today’s Internet ruled ease of purchase society, it is not necessary for buyers to attend trade shows to learn about new products or for that matter to purchase them. All the info you could ever want is just a click of the mouse away. It’s not necessary but still a hell of a lot more fun. That’s the ticket, make it fun, make it convenient, and make it an event that people can consider a vacation as well as a business event.
To be honest if it wasn’t an event that I need to attend I would. It is an event that I no longer get excited about, not the idea but the location. I don’t consider this a negative view of the idea of trade shows, hopefully just constructive criticism taken as just that.
Hopefully a light bulb will go off in someone’s head and reality will set in so in the future we can have an event to look forward to.
