There were about 300 cars and motorcycles on display for the 2012 Rims on the River, unfortunately a whole lot more cars than motorcycles. The three-day event brings in hundreds of car enthusiasts, venders, and live music to Wilmington’s downtown. This is an annual event that I look forward to every year.
Cars and motorcycles dating 1980-and-older line the streets of the historic downtown area with the Cape Fear River and the diverse collection of retail stores as a backdrop. This event has grown every year into a premier show. Rims on the River draws cars from the entire southeast region of the state as well as neighboring states.
I would like to give kudos to Chris Andrews who is responsible for this great event and has made it better and better every year. Hell, it’s only ten bucks to show your car and there are numerous events throughout the weekend to enjoy. So if your located anywhere near Wilmington, come on down. Hopefully there will be more vintage motorcycles next year as this a great event to showcase your bike and enjoy beautiful Wilmington, North Carolina.
