Obviously, Leona is no shrinking violet and her wild Big Cat theme makes absolutely sure she’s no wallflower wherever she parks her trike. From what I assume are leopard skin graphics (hey, I’m no felinologist) to her flair-to-dare when it comes to riding outfits, Leona is quite a cool cat herself. Subtle is not in her vocabulary when it comes to bikes and the cat theme running throughout the trike from the paint to the leopard skin seat/throne that would make a Massai chieftain proud to call it his own along with outfit-matching fringe skirts running around the bike helter-skelter proves ‘subtle’ is none of Leona’s business. Good for you young lady.
Getting into a trike can be a pretty hefty sum if you’re buying something like a new Harley Tri Glide and not everybody can afford the Tri Glide’s over-thirty-thousand asking price. There are alternatives out there, though, with affordable trike kits for bikes like the 2004 Suzuki C50 that Leona’s started out as. With ample power from the 805cc 45-degree V-twin and water-cooling to make being stuck in traffic a bit more reasonable, converted metric cruisers like Leona’s Suzuki can be an affordable and fun way to actively participate in the motorcycle world. Just for the heck of it, I checked out Barnett’s trike inventory and found five metric trikes going from the low to mid-teens so even though that’s more money than I could personally lay my hands on right now, that’s pretty affordable for a lot of potential trike owners. Hey, I know it’s not a Harley, but it’s a great alternative, just ask Leona.
If you’ve already got a got a bike, metric or Harley, and would like a three-wheeler, be sure to check out the aftermarket for available conversions that you or a company could do and get back out there riding. There are plenty of companies providing everything from bare-bones conversion kits to turn-key trikes so all it takes is a little web surfing to find out what you need to know to be an active member in the lovely world of three-wheeled motorcycling. With the winter coming, now is a great time to get what you need to roll out your dream trike for the coming riding season. Just forget the leopard-skin idea, Leona’s got dibs on that one already.
