When I saw the first photo of Parker Brothers Concepts Aluminati in Jack Cofano’s gallery of pics, I didn’t know what to think at first. I mean like, what’s the story here? Then with a tiny bit of investigation I found out it was made by Marc and Shannon Parker, brothers and co-owners of Parker Brothers Concepts in Cape Canaveral, Florida, who are known for thinking so far out of the box, even that phrase has become redundant. Hey, maybe you saw them trolling around on their Tron Legacy bikes at Daytona which is about the best promotion they could ever do. There’s just no way in hell you can look away when one of those quietly slides by even if you’re the most Old School purist that ever lived.
And that takes us to Barnett’s Magazine Online’s feature bike called Aluminati which is obviously a fun take on the name of the notorious secret sect, the Illuminati, who have been accused of trying to run the world in the shadows. I don’t think Marc and Shannon are trying to rule the world, but they sure would like to continue building vehicles that might just scare people into thinking they are capable. That they’ve made multiple Tron Legacy bikes that have sold all over the world might lead one to believe otherwise, but they’re in it for serious fun and the challenges each one of their projects presents. Although they do have a show on Syfy, Dream Machines, so maybe that’s just another step to world domination.
One thing that all their bikes (and other vehicles) do whether for movies, TV, corporate or private clients, is run and be drivable. Maybe not cross-country drivable, but still able to let your inner extrovert bask in the glory of all those who witness you experiencing something they can’t begin to get a realistic handle on. Hey, I don’t blame them as I’m in that same category too, but I sure like seeing whatever these guys turn out even if I don’t particularly like it. Even my idea of unlikeable gets skewed quite a bit the more I look at their creations and kinda get what they’re going after.
Yeah, the Aluminati is built around a power plant that you have absolutely no interest in being Harley-Davidson freaks and all, but there’s a lot to look at and a lot to like and, if you don’t like anything, there’s a lot to think about. Take those magnificent 3D wheels that look like they were made by reincarnated Middle Age Italian sculptors now working in aluminum. Sweet Louise there’s a lot to take in on how these wheels are somehow made and then made to actually work on a bike. I’m pretty sure it isn’t with a sharp chisel and a hammer, but if that’s what the Parker bros told me, I’d be inclined to believe them.
I think their “mission statement” from their website says it all so I’ll let them speak.
