Mark Roberts’ 1999 Harley-Davidson FXST
Story by Mark Barnett, Photos by Rodent
Purchased new ten years ago, Mark slowly modified his bike with bits and pieces over the years. When the bike was paid off, he got serious and contacted then El Paso- and now Albuquerque-based custom painter Danny Bally to apply the unique, understated, but definitely cool paint job. Sticking with El Pasoans, he then went over to Mean Street Products and bought a pair of 3” Styletto forks complete with new triple clamps from Tim Hanlon. Their blackened finish complemented the paint job perfectly. The rest of the mods are straightforward, an 80-spoke wheel in the front, a 140mm tire wedged in where the old 130 used to reside, custom 9” T-bars, controls, pegs, rotors, and more. This to me is an example of the modifications all fitting together nicely, everything matching, and looking like it was designed by one person.
