Ever since his unfortunate passing over eight years ago, people have been making Indian Larry tribute bikes. Some are good, some just okay, and some have been simply terrible. Luckily there’s still an option of getting the real thing or as absolutely close to the real thing as humanly possible. Bobby and Elisa Seeger worked alongside Larry through thick and thin and have strongly taken hold of the very tough task of continuing to produce Indian Larry bikes and parts that the man born as Larry Desmedt would be extremely proud of. That this is still being worked out of the original location in Brooklyn instead of some non-descript building in an industrial park in New Jersey for convenience sake just adds to the allure and authenticity.
From the very first Indian Larry bike I ever saw to the latest one by Bobby called Question Everything, I still get a chill up my spine just looking at it. That chill has a lot to do with not just looking at it, but wanting to throw a leg over and ride the hell out of it. That’s not unusual as anybody I’ve ever met with the tiniest bit of custom motorcycle DNA got starry-eyed just thinking about riding one of his bikes. Bobby Seeger Jr. has faithfully kept the Indian Larry style, tradition, and quality level alive and well and that’s a good thing. Actually with the way Bobby and Elisa are doing it, it’s a great thing.
Question Everything
makes me not question anything as it’s so true to IL form. With a perfect stance and yummy details like the tasty twisted springer and bits ‘o brass, it’s a looker. Meanwhile, the 93” S&S Shovelhead engine pushing the pretty lightweight bike certainly makes it a goer and banging out hard road mileswas what Larry’s bikes were all about. For example, those “ugly” steering dampers on just about every bike he made were not there for looks, he loved to pin the throttle and hold it there. That’s why you never saw an 18”-over fork or a ridiculously fat rear tire or a cubic-behemoth motor in one of his bikes. It was about the ride as much as the looks.
Speaking of looks, there’s nothing to complain about with this bike. Robert Pradke continues his tradition of being the go-to painter for Indian Larry Motorcycles with an homage to Ed “Big Daddy” Roth and his strangely loveable Rat Fink. The vertical flame graphics reminds me of the infamous flames the legendary Von Dutch applied to a 300SL Gullwing back in the ‘50s and pissed off every sports car purist who saw or even heard about it. The beautiful leatherwork on the seat featuring Indian Larry’s question mark logo was faithfully and beautifully done by Xian Leather. In short, every element that made his bikes great is reproduced and honed by Bobby with all due respect.
Like all of us, Bobby and Elisa Seeger are huge fans of both Larry the man and his work. That they took on the unbelievable challenge of keeping Indian Larry Motorcycles as a going and growing business is a test of true love and dedication to a man we’ll all miss, but never forget.

By the way, be sure to check out the high-quality and great looking clothing Elisa sells through her company called Genuine Motorworks (www.genuinemotorworks.com) located about a mile away from the motorcycle shop. Her taste is impeccable and the stuff is priced right. I just gotta say that Bobby and Elisa are two of the classiest people you’ll ever meet and the absolute perfect people to honestly keep the Indian Larry tradition on the straight and narrow.
