Smoke Out bikes always grab my attention as they’re real riders whether you believe it or not and they’re usually built by their owners in a garage just like yours. Imagination and skill displaces an unlimited budget and that’s a good thing. Making or modifying a part requires some thought and talent instead of sheer dollars invested and even bought parts are often eBay finds or used pieces that are refurbished or repurposed until they fit the bill. You gotta love a hot rod Softail like this mystery bike that draws you in with delicious Art Deco/Steampunk details that also take away nothing form using it as a motorcycle. Nobody there is worried about bluing the pipes unless it’s just running way too lean or getting it dirty, they’re there to show off their bike by riding the damn thing like it was intended. To me, an owner riding the pee out of their handiwork, that’s the real definition of showing a bike.
So mystery person who built this bike, we wish we could have given you some well-deserved personal credit, but we can’t. We’re just glad you spent the time to build this bike, filled the tank and rode it to Smoke Out 14 so Jack could at least shoot it, we could feature it, and you could enjoy it.
