The concern most have with the stock adjuster is that they feel it is possible for it to over-tighten the chain, which can result in the primary chain becoming so tight that it wears out the left side motor case bearings, inner primary bearings, clutch hub bearings, and transmission output gear bearings. The stock chain adjusters tighten the chain the first moment the chain has enough slack to it to ratchet the shoe up another notch. This can be a very costly issue if you encounter it. The Attitude Chain Adjuster allows you to adjust the chain to the proper 5/8-7/8″ (cold) free-play, avoiding the possibility of overtightening of the chain.
The Attitude Chain Adjuster has 28% finer teeth spacing, as compared to the 2001-06 ‘L-Bracket’ style, which allows for more accurate adjustments. Baker offers the chain adjuster for fitment with stock outer primary covers on 2006 and later Dyna models and 2007 and later Softail/Touring models. It is also offered as a package deal with the new BAKER Bully Primary Cover.
