Whenever I’m in Hollister I stop in his shop and disturb Benito long enough in order to pick up the latest copy of Thunder Press which I scour for their event listings. The last time I was there
I noticed an old Harley Knucklehead sitting in a corner. I asked about it saying, “Gee, maybe I should take a picture or two of it.” One thing led to another and Benito pulled it outside. Once in the sunlight, I took some images of this good looking, 1938 all-American-made 1938 Harley-Davidson El 61-inch Knucklehead-powered chopper that was sporting an original 1938 California license plate. It might not be show-pretty, but it is road pretty and that counts the most to some of us. In my humble opinion the Knucklehead motor ranks right up with the Vincent motor as one of the two of the best looking motorcycle engines ever made.
