Castillo FXR
Story by Mark Barnett, Photos by Frank Rangel
This is one of the best looking FXR models I’ve ever seen. It was taken in at Barnett Harley-Davidson in trade thirteen years ago and sold to Rick Castillo, one of our motorcycle sales representatives. The day it rolled into the showroom, Rick saw a crowd around it. He worked his way to the front and his jaw dropped. He ran to the parts counter with his credit card and left a deposit on it right away. He then went back through the crowd and put a sold tag on it. “Hey, it just got here. Who bought it?” the other salesmen asked. “You’re looking at him,” Rick replied. Rick commuted 36 miles a day round trip off and on for many years on this trusty FXR. He doesn’t know how many miles are on it, but he’s rebuilt the engine once and he wore out the rear pulley two weeks ago. Overall, he’s had very little trouble. And after all these years, it still draws a crowd.
