Over the years there have been quite a few bikes built to promote the Rat’s Hole Show and Ted Smith’s personal bobber charmingly called Rat Poison is another tidy little ride that continues that tradition. First built back in 2005 and sent on a tour of the show circuit, it’s recently been refreshed and upgraded by Jailhouse Choppers in Savannah, Georgia. The rigid frame...

Knockout’s Down & Dirty rigid frame sets this tone with a low stance and a rational 35-degree rake. The twin downtube design is stretched 2” up and is heavily gusseted behind the steering head making a stout platform to build off. A timeless set of H-D narrow glide forks, shortened 1.5”, with black lower legs and trees makes the frame and fork look as one. Handling doesn’t...

This is not the first time Kustoms Inc. has graced the Barnett’s Magazine Online screen as you might remember we featured a completely different-style of  bike called No Reservation back in September. Gary’s Rislone Racer looks like it should be prowling the pits at a local dirt track back in the ‘40s and a lot of that is due to the paintjob that looks like it was taken...

Years ago, I didn’t want to like European customs just because American V-twins were our bikes and we should be the ones doing them the best, but the builders grew on me with every new bike I saw. Today, I think American builders have rediscovered their mojo and are building some of the nicest bikes ever, but that doesn’t mean the European builders have lost theirs in the...

Unlike most guys I know, I’m not a fan of chrome, but I do like metal in its elemental form. The look and feel of real metal instead of candy – coated plating is something that can be used and abused if you’re not able to sorta become one with the metal. Instinctive might be a better way to describe it and Yaniv has that in spades. I don’t know if it’s correct (or boring) to...

Heritage Cycles seems to be one of those shops you wish was in your town with a great selection of everyday and custom parts, a complete service area catering to anything on two wheels, and a custom shop that would make any builder or customer a happy guy. Phil seems to be the business guy and Brian the dirty hands guy. Nothing wrong with that as it’s better to do each thing well...

“I did a lot of homework on all the parts for this bike before I bought anything. I kept searching around for months on the Internet and in magazines because I couldn’t afford to buy something I didn’t end up using,” said Steven. Like a lot of builds, it was a single part or in this case a pair that inspires the whole build and the type of motorcycle that results from that initial...

First off, I didn’t know Michael before seeing the photos and getting to speak with him, but he’s a pretty nice and I think pretty humble young guy who’s really found his way in life building beautiful bikes that are meant to be ridden, yet still capable of winning awards if that’s your thing. Even the back story behind this bike is damn interesting. “This ’71 Shovelhead engine...

One aspect of Japanese builders that really makes their work their own is the seeming lack of any catalog parts in their bikes and Hideya’s bike is no different. The startlingly simple, finished result almost appears like it’s missing some parts on first glance. That’s a big part of its appeal to me, the look of an extremely well-built roller that’s actually a finished product....

Ever since his unfortunate passing over eight years ago, people have been making Indian Larry tribute bikes. Some are good, some just okay, and some have been simply terrible. Luckily there’s still an option of getting the real thing or as absolutely close to the real thing as humanly possible. Bobby and Elisa Seeger worked alongside Larry through thick and thin and have strongly...
