Aldo of AQG Custom Motorcycles is one of those Italians who has a special eye for uniqueness when it comes to motorcycle customizing and design. And it clearly shows in his custom bike, “Magnificat.” Sure, there are French and other European bike builders who create awesome custom motorcycles, but all will agree that Aldo is a builder who can easily walk away from any custom bike show with top honors, and he has done so on several occasions. His custom bikes are highly sought after, because each of them has their own individual style.
The Magnificat custom uses a 124 cubic inch S&S engine with a 6-speed RevTech transmission. TheSanteerigid frame has a single down tube with a 43 degree rake, and the eighty shiny spokes in both the front and the rear wheels give this bike plenty of extra glamour.
The rear fender, oil tank, gas tank, handlebars, and risers are all designed by AQG. The violet candy color mixed with Aldo’s special raised laced design on the fuel tank and rear fender are the details that makes this custom stand out from the others.
The Magnificat custom bike is just another one of Aldo’s many matchless custom machines. Stay tuned for more of his custom motorcycles to appear in this publication.
Up Close: S&S Super Sidewinder 124
This motor is one of the most popular models produced by the famous S&S company. Thousands have been sold, many as optional upgrades to the largest OEM custom bike manufacturers. Capable of monstrous horsepower, 125 to 140 depending upon the pipe and fueling choices, this engine incorporates all the upgrades and improvements that S & S has made over the years. This is the engine used in their AHDRA drag racing challenge series, where the fastest rider has turned in a 9.336 quarter mile. Times in the low ten’s are very common on bikes capable of everyday street riding. S&S offers this 4 1/8” by 4 1/8” engine in Evo or Twin Cam styles as a bolt in replacement for your stock Harley-Davidson engine. A slightly beefed up clutch is all that is required. One employee at S&S has over 25K miles on his 124-equipped bagger, the oiling system on the engine is designed for longevity as well as racing.
Builder: Aldo Querio Gianetto
Aldo Gianetto has been building custom bikes for five years now and in this short time he has managed to jump to prominence in the European custom bike scene. Working out of a shop eighty miles west of Milanin northern Italy, he has created numerous eye catching customs. He started as a child working with mopeds and small motorcycles, taking them apart and modifying them. He graduated to Moto Guzzis, BMWs and BSAs, all the time managing to put his personal imprint on the finished bike. As he went through a variety of jobs from being a truck driver to an actor, he never stopped thinking about his next custom vehicle. Finally, he managed to make custom bike building his profession and builds about ten bikes a year through his store AQG Custom Motorcycles. You can read more about him on his website www.aqg.it.
