Or, like Jerry Covington of Covingtons Cycle City in Woodward, Oklahoma, you could do what you do best ─ show ‘em what you got in the best and easiest possible way. That would be to take a stock Harley-Davidson bagger and put each and every piece you make and sell along with some prototype pieces you’d like to sell on that innocent model and turn it into your very own mechanical spokesmodel. You’ve now got your own brand ambassador who’ll work long hours for zero pay, zero demands, and never give a wrong answer or act snooty to a potential customer. Heck, you could even take her what I’m gonna guess was a Road King for a ride when she’s not working or when you’re tired of her and she’s outlasted her usefulness, you could just sell her and maybe even make a handsome profit too.
And what’s even better about building your own spokesmodel is that before that time comes to get rid of the old gal, maybe some knucklehead writer showcases your bike and all those lovely parts and pieces before millions of people on the Internet for free. O-o-h Jerry, you are one talented and smart guy that knows how things work and luckily for us, you build great bikes too.
