This show is also my favorite because I get to talk to a lot of the people that I know and only get to see a few times a year. One of those people is Steve Galvin of Wikked Steel who received the honor of Best of Show. Steve comes up with some crazy unique designs that baffle the imagination and this year was no exception.
I understand that some people had a problem with the title “America’s World Champion” stating that you cannot be both at one show. Ah, can you say anal? Who gives a rat’s ass what the trophy reads, bikers have never been accused for being politically correct. As always there has to me some that have to rain on the parade.
This show had the best of the best customs brought to Daytona to compete as this is the last show of the week and everyone was able to enter their rides. How anyone in the world could pick a winner out of the number of incredible entries in these bike shows is beyond me. I may not always agree on their judging but they have got to have the most thankless job in the industry.
Finally the only thing that I can think of that that will never happen at a Rat’s Hole Show is me getting my hands on one of those great trophies designed by Ken Glenn, master judge. I have a tattoo on my arm of the rat and it’s my favorite so if anyone has an extra trophy that they would like to donate to my favorite charity, me, don’t hesitate to send it to me because that’s the only way in hell I’ll ever get one. It can be inscribed, “America’s World Rat Fanatic Champion”.
