Choppers
Echelon Motorcycles is known for its very long and very sleek bikes. Robert prefers rigid frames and started his project using a Killer Chopper frame with the tried and true geometry figures (rake and stretch) that give all his bikes superb handling ability despite extremely long front ends. For his chopper, Robert chose a 14” over Perse Wide Glide front end on PM Trinity Wheels.
To power his new ride, Robert contacted R&R Cycle for one of their new 127” motors, primarily because he thought the billet motor would add to the clean silver look he had in mind. Robert also decided to try out the new Baker
6-Speed transmission. A set of Grumpy’s pipes was added and now the mock up was ready for some serious sheet metal fabrication. All Echelon Motorcycles have extensive sheet metal work, and Robert’s bike would be no exception. Using Fat Katz fuel tank and fender, the metalworkers did their magic to give this bike a clean smooth flow that Robert craves. Like all Echelon bikes, extra care is taken to make sure that there is absolutely no paint to metal contact on the bike. Special washers and extra milling time is used on every component and the entire bike is hard-wired. The bike was finished off with molding and a classy silver on silver paint job completed at the Echelon Manufacturing Facility in Longwood, FL. Finally ready for its maiden voyage, Robert saddled up and took his new creation on the road. When he returned from its first ride, Robert was completely satisfied. He had never used the R&R / Baker combination before, and he was absolutely blown away by the ride. “This is the absolutely best handling and smoothest riding bike I have ever been on.” Since Echelon is committed to using only the best components, this hi-performance drive train combination will be featured on all its new models. The clean brake bolt covers and new Echelon starter covers that were prototyped for Robert’s bike will also become standard components on the 2004 models. Echelon Motorcycle Company offers 4 basic models, 2 rigids and 2 softails that come standard with top of the line, quality components and exquisite craftsmanship.
