Lone Star Rally – Part II
Story and Photos by Rodent
Opening day for the 2009 Lone Star rally was rainy as hell. At first it dampened the spirit of the rally since the forecast for Thursday and Friday was bad as well. But Saturday and Sunday saw huge crowds gather in the historic Strand area and RV’s line the Seawall. Motorcycles cruised the miles of Seawall Boulevard along the Gulf of Mexico unimpeaded by law enforcement throughout the rally. All brands of bikes were welcomed but Harleys were the dominate brand by a margin of 20 to 1. As you can see from the photos, even though the Galveston area was ravaged recently and the originator of the Lone Star rally had to step down this year, the rally has a strong base of support and promises to once again take its place as one of the top events in the nation.
