I’ve heard about Jeff for years, but never had the opportunity to go visit his restoration shop, Indian Motor Works in Bayfield, Colorado, just a few miles north of the Ute Indian Reservation. So, I gave him a ring and, a little phone tag later as he was out golfing, we connected and made arrangements for me to visit his shop.
Jeff greeted me at the door and I walked into a what seemed like an old-fashioned, genuine, operating Indian sales, service, restoration, and parts museum. Unf**kinbelievable! I have never seen an operation like this. As I looked around I saw an absolutely spotless machine shop, parts counter, office, Indian frames, Indian jugs, etc. Totally unreal. Jeff has been in the business for some 38-years and is well known and respected throughout the Springfield Indian world. Ya want a original Indian with under a 1,000 real miles? He’s got one, plus other low-mile originals. Ya need Indian parts? He’s got them too.
Now for the real zinger. Jeff wants to sell out. Everything in the building. The machine shop, parts, accessories, signs, books, and a bunch of restored and unrestored Springfield Indians. If you’re interested, bring mucho dinero and a couple of 18-wheelers.
