The bike was at Corbin’s to be re-seated as a larger battery was fitted to start the big 125-inch RevTech motor. A bigger battery meant the seat had to be customized to fit over battery. But that wasn’t all that had changed. The oil tank has been relocated under the tranny. The long cylinder attached to the front lower frame is the electric fuel pump to feed the fuel-injection unit. Headlights, directional signals, and taillights were all modernized. I guess when you’re the boss of a parts manufacturer you get the latest and greatest.
In case you don’t know what Corbin’s Warbird is, well it’s Mike Corbin’s kit for updating the look on an FXR, but in a different way. It is his custom take on classic warbirds like the Mustang, Corsair, and Thunderbolt. The kit consists of a Warbird fairing, a Corbin chin spoiler, smooth side covers, a Warbird tail section and, of course, a Corbin Warbird custom saddle.
Oh yeah, the rubberized paint on Louie’s FXR was applied via rattle can!
