2011 Progressive International Motorcycle Show[br]The Bikes
Two of the most popular bikes at the show were the beautiful new Norton production bikes made in England. The new Norton is an absolutely stunning motorcycle in my opinion. And second bike that caught my eye was the 1-of-1100 Steve McQueen-labeled Triumphs with The King of Cool’s signature adorning it.
2011 Daytona Biketoberfest[br]The Scene
The crowds seemed to be everywhere and it was hard to tell if you were at the spring rally or the fall. Main Street on Friday and Saturday was jammed. Gridlock both on the street and on the sidewalk. It also seems that the younger crowd is now flocking to the big events now that riding a rice rocket is not as taboo as it once was.
The estimates for the fall rally seem to run at...
2011 Biketoberfest Rat’s Hole bike show
Although the Biketoberfest show is a much smaller show attendance-wise than the spring show, there were still plenty of top grade show bikes to peruse. I love my job.
2011 Daytona Biketoberfest[br]Boardwalk Bike Show
There was a gaggle of bikes on display from high-end uber-customs to everyday rides. There were even a couple of incredible metal-sculptured trikes that would feel right at home in a museum.
What a great way to start your day, I even skipped breakfast so that I could enjoy the scene on the boardwalk. Although I think that the Daytona Lagoon where the Rat’s Hole show is held is a...
Myrtle Beach Fall Rally 2011 Part 2[br]The Bikes
That said, I’m just as happy to take photos of everyday rides that you and I tool around on. If you think about it, some of the new bikes would have been considered show bikes a few years ago. Due to the influence of past show bikes the manufacturers now include many of the kind of parts and modifications that were previously only found on show bikes. If you consider show bikes as...
