It seems that most of the devices used by attendees were iPhones, iPads, and other Apple products at an event that Apple boycotts. This is the last year for Microsoft being the headliner with Steve Balmer playing second banana to Ryan Seacrest in a stupid skit with a lousy choir singing tweets. Yeah, I said it was stupid and so did most of the media. How strange. We didn’t see any devices of particular interest to our world except Escort radar detectors, On Star, and other various devices. Even the New York Times in its January 8th coverage agrees with yours truly!
So we had to shoot The Girls of CES 2012, which is a lot more fun than shooting pieces of computer gear. It seems to me that 99% of the tech stuff on display is made in China (as expected), but invented and sold by Americans. At least there weren’t any T-shirt vendors, so that was a redeeming feature!
