This bike’s theme came from the 1982 developed cartoon character which was made into a Walt Disney movie in 1991. The late thirties art deco style of the cartoon made its way into this bike as well. The project started with a Redneck frame and a 12” over classic springer front end. An S&S 96” engine with only a few modifications was bolted in place during the intense four-day build. A BDL belt drive helps connect the motor and transmission which together turn the 250 rear tire made by Avon. Wheels are classic 80-spoke ones. German painter and air brush artist “Wild Air” Horby completed the ultra cool paint job, obviously in advance of the actual built-off which sounds more like an “assemble-off” since many items were pre-fabbed in advance. What did have to be done was the wiring, live and on stage. All switches, lights, ignition parts, etc had to be wired up and their connections soldered. When it came time to hit the starter switch signaling the end of the build, no one was happier than Urs himself when the mighty S&S began to sing through those proprietary twisted exhaust pipes.
When asked about the stress of such a quick assembly job, Urs laughed it off. As his team can rebuilt a supercharged V8 or fuel burning V2 drag racing engine in the parking lot often in less than an hour while they are still hot, the team worked together well to pull off this stunt.
