This gem of a customized Softail Springer is something I know the bad boy in all of you will appreciate so be sure to check out the photo gallery for all the pics. I mean, what’s not to like about a bike that still has all its road usefulness intact and yet you’d never lose this bird in a parking lot. Well maybe you might, but if the rest of us couldn’t find this reach-for-the-sky Springer in a pile ‘o Harley baggers and Sportsters, we probably shouldn’t be riding in traffic anyway. This is one low rider that stands tall in any crowd.
Rides like this are great just to show you how you might take your vision in a whole new direction other than tired Live to Ride or Maltese Cross themes. And, as my friend of few words, Chuck Foster, always says regardless of whether it’s relevant to what we’re talking about, “When in doubt, ape it out!” This sage advice probably wouldn’t work for me in this particular Springer’s case as I think I might have to stand on the seat to reach the grips on those maxi-apes. Everything else that’s been done to this bike is something a Harley owner could do to their bike without totally wrecking its road worthiness.
So the moral of the story here is that if you attend a rally or a show and find El Jacko’s business card on your bike (Las Vegas BikeFest is coming up Oct 3-6!), contact him ASAP if you want your 15 minutes of fame. Hey, for most of us that’s all we’re ever gonna get so why blow it?
