Once you get over your initial shock of “What the hell is that thing?” you’ll see the builder really spent some time working on it and it ain’t no rat bike. The engine is very nicely detailed and sports a set of racy Keihin CRS smoothbore flatslide carbs with velocity stacks. The largely-fabricated drop seat frame appears to have only the stock VIN-bearing neck intact is about as drop seat as you can get without sitting on the lower frame rails (or having the drive train meet the boys). The CB front end looks stock except for a splash of white paint and is the only suspension in sight. A nice touch is the dry sump engine’s oil tank that is hidden in the right saddlebag (I have to assume the battery calls this home too) giving a way-too-airy-look-but-I-hope-it’s-strong-enough-look to the middle of the frame between the clump of the engine and the fender/saddlebag rear. I just wonder who’s going to use those passenger pegs and slide around on the fender or is that some sort of a strange hand rest? Who knows? And, more importantly, who cares? This is one funky-cool ride that I bet puts a sh*t-eatin’ grin on the owner’s face every time he parks it and watches people’s reactions.
