One thing that we always liked was Jerry’s penchant for performance even with all-out custom bikes. It still mattered to him that a custom bike should peel your eyelids back when you hit the throttle. His love of two- and four-wheeled high performance machinery came through with every build we featured in print or online. Thinking about it, probably the only genre of custom bikes he never got into was rat bikes (which we do love here) as I just don’t think his heart would be into building one. But, if he did, it would be fast as hell.
Our featured Road Glide is a good example of what Jerry and the lads at CovingtonsCycleCity in Woodward, Oklahoma, have been up to with their extremely extensive line of custom bagger parts. If you look at this bike, chances are that 99.5% of what you see is offered through Covingtons. Yeah, even the sensibly sized and attractive HoleShot front wheel that looks tough musclecar more than crazy show custom. Plus they’re made right here in the good old USA and not shipped in a container across an ocean. Or maybe you just want some nice custom bag latches for a basically stock bike, Jerry’s your go to guy.
Three’s a bit of practicality here too in this build as the engine’s been nicely built up with Harley’s Screamin’ Eagle parts internally and externally. Have any problem out on the road and help is just your nearest H-D dealer away. Performance plus reliability is a combo anyone can live with especially when you toss in a company like Harley-Davidson with dealers everywhere you turn. Although there is one distinct performance mod you can’t help notice, running or parked, that doesn’t come straight from The Motor Company and that’s the exhaust. Here Jerry swapped out the stock pipes for his own tasty Covington 2-into1 Destroyer exhaust. I do like the performance flare it gives a custom bagger instead of the usual routing through the extended bags you usually see.
All in all, this is one good looking custom bagger with a nice performance punch that’s a perfect showcase for CovintonsCycleCity. For more info on all the bagger parts and services Jerry offers, just click on http://www.covingtonscyclecity.com/ and see for yourself.
