Story and Photos by Jack Cofano {phocagallery view=categories|categoryid=805|imagecategories=0|}

One of my main duties when I cover a show or rally is to bring you as many bike photos as I can get until my eyes start to cross. For the next three days I’ll be bringing you more bikes than you can bust a burnout on. There will be bikes that you like, bikes that you hate, and bikes that you will have to say to yourself, “What were they thinkin’?” You know, different strokes for different folks. You may have your own opinion on the builds but the people who build these bikes think that their bikes are the sweetest things to roll down the highways.
First to show you today is the 20th Annual Boardwalk Bike Show, which was held on Friday, March 11, by the Main Street Pier at Boardwalk and Main in Daytona Beach. This year there was not a cloud in the sky, sunny, and cool. By cool I mean low to middle 60’s, and that’s the way I like it.
There was a good turnout for the show and with 20 classes to compete for a trophy was not out of the question for anyone. You couldn’t find a prettier place to photograph bikes, the majestic Atlantic Ocean on one side the Daytona boardwalks, hotels and shops on the other, and the historic boardwalk in the middle. It’s the kind of backdrop that gets my juices flowing as a photographer; now if only they wouldn’t put the bikes so close together and I could figure out how to eliminate people’s feet (including my own) from the shots it would be perfect. Oh well, if life was perfect I’d be better looking, rich, and built like a mule if you know what I mean.
This was a good show, maybe not with the quality of bikes in general that were entered in the AMD or Rat’s Hole Show, but many of the best were also entered in the Rat’s Hole Show so you will get to see them again in a different venue. So enough of this redundant drivel, you want to see the bikes not hear what Jack did on Spring Break. Be sure to check back tomorrow and Friday for the other two bike shows I covered: the AMD and Rat’s Hole shows.
