The MMA Swap Meet used to be held in San Francisco at the Cow Palace managed by Guinea who has a personality somewhere between that of Steve Jobs and Bill Graham, but he got the job done efficiently. Guinea passed away about five-years ago. He was missed by all who knew him.
Because of a huge jump in facility rent, MMA was forced to move to a cheaper location, that being the Dixon Fairgrounds. Some vendors say it hurt them, others said it didn’t. Any who, it was a huge event with vendors filling both halls and a large outside area. There was very little junk vendor stuff like old event shirts and such. Lots of old junk to some that became treasures to others after a little old-fashioned horse trading. In my opinion, it was a good event.
