This eye-catcher is called Hitman, a new base model built South Side Kustoms, a full service shop owned by Jason McCudden in Buffalo, New York. “We knew this bike had to stand out from the rest,” Jason said. “When folks come and choose one of our base models from SSK, we give them choices and options from get go so they always stand out.”
Stand out it certainly does. Starting with a frame from Thompson Choppers in Springfield, Missouri, and moving on to the addition of great touches like the 96″ S&S engine and those way-cool pipes by Hacker Custom Exhaust (formerly Hackerpipes) would be enough for most people. But Jason took it a step further and had Air-FX add that delicious candied paintjob, and copper accents. “The paintjob is definitely my favorite aspect of the bike,” Jason said, who is also proud of the all-American parts on SSK bikes. “The candy paint over raw jeweled steel. It’s a fancy way for saying clear paint over steel; we put grinder marks in. I love the paintjob, just the blend of colors like the candy red with copper — just looks like a hot girl with red lipstick on.”
Jason said the bike handles like “a small sports car” as he eases in and out of traffic, but he most enjoys fast cruising. When he has time to ride, that is. “I don’t really have time to ride, I’ve gotta work and build folks’ dreams.” Speaking of dreams, Jason dreamed up this bike in response to his competitors. “I saw where they lacked and I came up with this design,” he said. It’s well-known Jason’s not a big fan of shows and trophies, so it’s no surprise this bike hasn’t been entered in any. “I think trophies mean nothing,” he said. “People’s compliments at shows or cruises are what make you feel warm and fuzzy.”
