One thing that might be a clue is Jeff’s description of what Speedking’s all about on his website and that is “Handbuilt Motorcycles and Alternative Photography.” Jeff’s photography is about three steps above top notch and that same eye for a great photo surely carries over to critical assessment of any of his builds from beginning to end.
Take this latest Speedking creation Jack Cofano shot at Smoke Out 15 and check out Jack’s photo gallery and see if you don’t agree. This ’64 Harley Panhead is just too lovely for words. No, it doesn’t have some latest and greatest gizo or passing trend, it’s just an absolutely honest interpretation of a classic Panhead. To me, it’s perfection of what a totally rideable classic chop worthy of any show, but made to beat the hell out of on the street to somewhere incredibly cool.
Jeff’s workmanship is incredible and nothing is left as is. The bike not only looks tough as nails, but the fit and finish looks like it would stay that way even after weeks on the road. Some things are not what you might think and that Jeff-made stainless steel frame is one of them. No need to powdercoat an old steel frame for durability, stainless is its own animal. Everything is simple, yet complex in its design. Again, that’s all part of Jeff’s eye for what constitutes simplicity, complexity, and damn good looks that make you stare like a fool at it.
Do yourself a big favor and check out Jeff’s website (http://www.speedkingphoto.com/)
for some absolutely beautiful motorcycles that will make your heart pick up a beat or two along with his keen eye for taking photos of motorcycling at its best. Maybe you’ll end up becoming a Speedking fanboy (or fangirl) just like me.
