The main chopperfest on the East Coast is The Horse Back Street Choppers Smoke Out held at the Rockingham Dragstrip in Rockingham, North Carolina. This is the 18^th year of the event and I am happy to say that this is the 12^th year I have covered this event in its various locations.

This year’s event had it all: bands, vendors, ride-in bike show, drag racing, and the fun for all mini bike and three-wheel drift trike races. Along with the multiple bands there was also the stomach churning FreakShow Deluxe, the oh-so-adult painted lady contest, and the lovely Cherry Bombs dance troupe.

One of the events that I find the most fun is the anything-on-two-wheels drag races on the quarter-mile Rockingham Dragstrip. It is open to anyone with the cojones to test their machine WFO. Ride it like you stole it.

            Smoke Out 18 had an excellent turnout, great weather, and plenty of one-off custom motorcycles to please any old school chopper aficionados. I hope you enjoy Barnett’s Magazine Online’s four day photo coverage of this event.
