Larry Tremblay and Buck Ketcham, owners of Crossroads Custom Rides in New Windsor, New York, have been building bikes together for about eight years now. Featured here is Black Rose, named for the tattoo art on the tank.
The build took place at Larry’s house, where they build customs and customize bikes of all kinds. They also have a full line of parts and custom accessories. “This bike was a roller that someone tried to put together and messed up so the owner of The Tattoo Learning Center bought the bike as-s and asked me if we could do something with it,” Larry said. “So Buck and myself did what we do best and you see what came out. Jeff Looman, who owns the bike, and his wife Lisa, picked out the colors and the tattoo we did the rest.”
The 2010 Crossroads is a sleek ride to begin with, and Larry and Buck worked off of that and gave the bike its power with an H-D engine and nice touches like the Paughco Springer, the Old School floor boards, and of course that you-can’t-miss-it key lime green paintjob. Larry especially likes the Hurst shifter the twin bob tank. “Hell, I like the whole thing,” Larry said. “We love that old school look with that touch of class,” Larry said. “All the modifications went well — its like anything you work hard enough, it will come together. When it comes to old school, I think we nailed it. “
The owner Jeff rides it all the time (he’s put 750 miles on it so far), and Larry and Buck loved the way it rode ride when they had it. “I can say it rides great,” Larry said. He and and Buck have about 25 custom bikes out there on the road, the Marine Corps Tribute Bike being the most well-known. They had Black Rose at a few shows around town and Upstate New York people love this bike; we had it at the bike show in New York City and there was a crowd around it all weekend.
Larry’s latest project is a Pro-Street Softtail with a mag charger he’s building for himself. If you’re in the mood for some wild old school customization on your bike, or just in the mood for a custom bike that won’t be like any other, give Crossroad Custom Rides a call at 845-728-2085.
